TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

    1. Act as Site Selection Committee for the Local Association tournament and Provincial tournament
    2. Recommend any and all rules changes to the board for approval
    3. Recommend dates and times for the tournament.
    4. Recommend prices changes for the tournament.
    5. Setup the tournament entry form for approval by the board and have them printed.
    6. Help setup and run the tournament on site.

 

BANQUET COMMITTEE

Committee should hold at a minimum 2 to 3 meetings per year.

    1. Do all planning for the awards banquet
    2. Work in conjunction with Bowling Council on the Banquet
    3. Contact all award winners and sell and distribute any and all tickets for the banquet
    4. Help at the banquet with the presentation of awards.
    5. Arrange with the committee and/or the secretary of the association to order and pay for all awards.
    6. Keep trace and report on all tickets sold for the banquet and report and hand over all funds to the secretary/treasurer for deposit.
    7. Produce a final report for the board, which should include an accounting of all funds collected, paid out and monies owing.
    8. Make recommendations to the board for the next year’s banquet.

 

OPERATIONS REVIEW

    1. Committee chair will hold at least one meeting per season
    2. The committee will review any and all sections of the operation of the local association.
    3. This committee will review any and all sections of the operation of the local association.
    4. The committee will be responsible for the maintenance and review of the Bowler of the Year and All-Star Team formats, and will make any recommendations for change to these formats to the board of directors.
    5. All recommendations made by this committee will be made in writing to the respective committees that are involved, and will be presented to the board of directors.

 

PUBLICITY

    1. The publicity committee shall inform the media, (newspaper, radio, television, etc.) of any and all local events, (banquet, tournament, hall of fame, etc.)
    2. Promote association events in all bowling centers with the use of announcements, posters and flyers.
    3. Use any methods at their disposal to publicize the association.

 

LEGISLATIVE

    1. The chairman shall hold at least one committee meeting each year.
    2. Review the local association by-laws and make any and all recommend changes to the board of directors
    3. All changes should be submitted to the board for approval by the March meeting for submittal to the council of delegates at the annual meeting in April.
    4. Conduct the legislative session during the annual meeting in April.
    5. Make sure the secretary of the association incorporates any and all changes to the by-laws for the up coming season.

 

C.T.F.

    1. The committee will oversee the operation of any and all CTF qualifiers in our area.
    2. Make sure that any qualifiers are submitted along with any funds to the provincial/national CTF

 

NOMINATING

The Nominating Committee shall be responsible for the following areas:

    1. Asking board members whose terms are due if they wish to run for office again.
    2. Handle and count all votes that are taken by ballot and destroy all votes as ordered by the board.
    3. Run the election at all council of delegates meetings, board meeting etc.
    4. Recruit and make recommendation for new board members.

 

AUDIT-BUDGET

The audit and budget committee shall be responsible for the following:

    1. Hold quarterly audit of all association accounts
    2. Check and verify the accuracy of all association accounts and verify the balance of these accounts is true and accurate.
    3. Check the following during the audit: Cheque, bill/receipts, deposits, and any other monies related to the operation of the association.
    4. Present these reports to the board on a quarterly basis and once a year to the council of delegates.
    5. Prepare and approve a budget for recommendation to the board of directors for their approval once a year.
    6. Audit any committees and their reports that handles funds for the association.

 

INSPECTION

The Inspection committee is a 4 member joint committee with the local women’s association and shall be responsible for the following:

    1. Oversee policy for inspections and certificates for all local association in our area.
    2. Schedule and appoint inspectors to do all inspections and certification for the local associations.
    3. CERTIFICATION: Perform Yearly lane Certification in all center in the association between May and August.
    4. LANE INSPECTION: Lane dressing inspections to be performed within 30 days of any honor scores. Minimum one per season per center.
    5. CERTIFICATION FEES:
    1. $5.00 per lane bed with $3.00 per center going to ABC and the balance paid to the inspectors
    2. $0.40/Km for travel expenses outside the City of Windsor paid to the inspector who uses their vehicle.
    3. Fees are paid by the bowling centers.
    1. LANE DRESSING INSPECTION FEES:
    1. $25.00 per Lane Dressing Inspection
    2. $0.20/Km for travel expenses outside the county of Essex
    3. Fees paid by the local association
    1. Inspection coordinator to be elected from the joint committee.
    2. All inspection tools and equipment is the property of the WEKCBA Association and shall be maintained by the local association secretary.

 

HALL OF FAME

The Hall of Fame committee is responsible for the selection, reviewing, and recommendation of possible candidates for presentation to the board of directors for approval of their nominations for voting.

The Hall of Fame committee shall be responsible for the following:

    1. Committee member, along with board members to recruit possible candidates
    2. Inform possible candidates of the requirements for possible nomination to the hall.
    3. Review all resumes that are submitted.
    4. Committee members shall not be responsible for the preparation of resumes that are submitted to the committee. All committee members shall either accept the resume as presented or return the resume to be redone.
    5. Determine if all resumes are reasonably accurate in content.
    6. Maintain a file with all possible candidates for future considerations.
    7. Hold at least 2 meetings a year.
    8. All recommended candidates to be presented to the board of directors by the March meeting for review and discussion.
    9. Have board of directors vote on the committees recommended candidates for presentation to the hall of fame members for voting as per hall of fame procedures. (attached)
    10. Notify the candidate that they have been nominated for the hall of fame.
    11. Prepare and send out resumes and ballots to respective personnel  as per outline for voting.
    12. Collect all returning ballots and call a committee meeting to count the ballots.
    13. After the ballots have been counted, destroy all the ballots.
    14. Inform the candidates of the outcome of the vote.
    15. If necessary, acquire a ring size and a 5 by 7 picture of the successful candidate(s).
    16. Order any rings and hall of fame picture plates for presentation at the awards banquet.
    1. Rings are purchased from the following company: Baron Insignias in Chatham
    2. Photo Plates are purchased from Photo Tec in Detroit Mi.
    1. Maintain the Hall of Fame display at the Rose Bowl Lanes.
    2. Handle the induction ceremonies for the Candidate(s) at the local awards banquet.

 

BOWLING COUNCIL

The Bowling Council committee shall consist of 4 board members appointed by the President and line officers. The council is formed with an equal number of representatives from the WEKCBA, WAWBA, ECJBA, and the proprietors.

The duties of the council members are:

    1. Attend all meetings of the bowling council when possible.
    2. Attend to all business that the bowling council is engaged in such as the Banquet, Halloween, and Hands Across the Boarder, and the Seniors Tournament.
    3. Inform the board of all business that the council is engaged in.
    4. Report and represent the association’s interest at all council meeting.

 

LIFE MEMBERS

The Life members committee shall consist of all active life members.

Their duties are as follows:

    1. Maintain a listing of possible candidates for life membership
    2. Recommend to the board any candidates that have met the requirements for life membership
    3. With board approval, present recommended candidates to the council of delegates for their approval for voting
    4. Prepare plaque for all new life members for presentation at the awards banquet.
    5. Life membership requirements are outlined in the local association bylaws in Section 13c as outlined below:

LIFE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Section 13c: Board members may be nominated for life membership in the association provide that they have served on the board of directors for a minimum of 10 years as a director or line officer.

 

YEARBOOK

The yearbook Committee shall be responsible for the preparation of the annual yearbook with cooperation of the WAWBA and the ECJBA. Following is from the bylaws regarding the book:

 

YEARBOOK

Section 10a: The association shall on its own or in cooperation with the Women’s and Junior associations publish a year book, listing names and average of all members as furnished by league secretaries. The average book shall be maintained for at least 3 years and must provide as a minimum the name of each bowler who has bowled 21 games or more in one or more leagues, the number of names and average in each league. Summer League Averages will be published in the following season’s book.

Section 10b: League Secretaries are required to furnish league averages as of the last night of their season. Averages must be submitted to the local association secretary by June 1st of the current bowling season.

Their duties shall consist of the following:

a. Choose a printer to do the printing within our financial means. ( $1500.00 to $2000.00)

b. Coordinate with the other 2 association the advertising and layout of the book.

    1. Recruit advertising for the book with ad to be sold as follows:
    2. i) Full Page $100.00

      ii) ½ Page $ 50.00

      iii) ¼ Page $ 25.00

      iv) Back Cover $150.00

    3. The Back Cover of the year book is rotated among the 3 bowling centers:
    1. Bowlero Bowl
    2. Crescent Lanes
    3. Rose Bowl Lanes
    1. Of the above centers that are not on the back cover they shall be on the inside covers.
    2. All Advertisement shall be photo ready. No lay out to be done.
    3. All associations shall have advertisement and their portion of the book in by the last week of June for printing by the 1st week of July.
    4. Books will be distributed in the following manner:
    1. All Leagues receive on book
    2. All board members, WEKCBA, WAWBA, ECJBA receive 1 book
    3. All Bowling Centers receive one book for Rose Bowl and Bowlero Bowl receives Two.
    4. All advertisers
    1. The Printing will consist of 400 books unless it is determined by the committee that more is necessary
    2. The committee will oversee the payment of required funds for the book.

 

HEARING

The Hearing Committee shall consist of all the line officers. The duties are as follows:

    1. Hold hearings for the possible suspensions of members
    2. Hold hearings for the possible suspensions of board members
    3. Hold disciplinary action for board members
    4. Review and take possible action or recommendations regarding attendance.
    5. Act as the ethics committee of the board
    6. Attend joint live officers meeting with other associations.
    7. Along with the president, set up the committees in the month of May if possible
