.
Years of Bowling: 26 years
Occupation: Retired Secondary School teacher – Greater Essex
County Board of Education. (Belle River District High School)
I started Bowling: as a winter activity with a friend with
whom I played slow pitch.
Early role models: The O’Hara Brothers who owned Tilbury
Recreation (now J&D Lanes) in Tilbury, who encouraged me, and
gave me basic instruction
Current Projects: President of WEKCBA. I’m also secretary
(starting 25th year) of the Monday and Wednesday Leagues
at J&D Lanes. I’m also Stats Secretary for their Junior
program and I write a weekly bowling column for the Tilbury Times
newspaper.
Most memorable bowling moment: Standing
for the Canadian National anthem before bowling the team event at
the ABC Tournament (2002) at Billings, Montana.
Most forgettable bowling moment: when
I threw two “gutter” balls while on a double in a game in which I
bowled 214.
What I like best about bowling: It’s a
challenge, it varies from night to night and essentially my fate is
in my own hands. I also enjoy the camaraderie with teammates and opponents.
Bowling goals: A 300 game, of course. And a successful term
as WECKBA President
One thing nobody knows about me: is that I really have a
bad temper! |

My advice to aspiring bowlers: is to
be patient; success isn’t achieved instantly
If I could change one thing about bowling it would be: lane
conditions that do not change from night to night, and from game
to game.
Favorite movie: Airplane (1980)
Favorite "pig-out" food: Popcorn
The one thing that everyone has tried except me: Roller
coasters.
The one word that describes me best: Patient.
Favorite hobbies: Bowling, model railroading, gardening,
and computers.
Pet peeves: People who don't care and act irresponsibly!
Alarm clocks, and cars with one headlight. |
